History

The Regional Centre of Ahmedabad was established in 1988 to achieve the objective of “reach the un-reached”. To fulfill its objective Regional Centre, Ahmedabad had established Study Centres in different unprivileged areas of Gujarat in its juridiction. The Regional Centre of Ahmedabad was established in 1988, inaugurated by the then Governor of Gujarat, Shri R.K. Trivedi in the presence of the founder Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU, Prof. G. Ram Reddy. Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Mehta has served as the Founder Regional Director.

 

Ahmedabad Regional Centre was first RC to celeberate it's Silver Jubilee in the year 2012. Ahmedabad RC also organized two parallel International Conferences in the year 2017 in collaboration with BAOU the State Open University, Ahmedabad which is quite unique in itself.
